HLTPAT306D Perform Blood Collection is a 2-Day Phlebotomy practical workshop and leads to a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment (in partial completion of the Certificate III in Pathology Specimen Collection). Competency sign off will require attendance to the workshop which includes competency assessments and completion of a workbook to confirm retention of underpinning knowledge criteria. This program provides successful participants with knowledge and skills in Phlebotomy, the collection of blood specimens by venepuncture using the Vacutainer system, to industry standards. Emphasis is placed on developing hands-on skills, as well as professional conduct with respect to legislative and organisational requirement, infection control and safety. All in a work simulated environment. Other subjects covered are: understanding the role and the opportunities of the industry; an in-depth view the why and how of collections, client care, patient handling, general precautions, and more… Qualified trainers with extensive Pathology industry knowledge and experience conduct our programs. You will be assessed throughout the course and supervised 1:1 during practical exercises, enabling you to perform and retain these skills with confidence! Underpinning knowledge:
