Diploma of Financial Services (Financial Planning)

The Australian College of Professionals is conducting an intensive training program for people who wish to gain accreditation to provide advice in Financial Services (Financial Planning) under the requirements of the Financial Services Reform Act 2004. The course is also ideal for persons wishing to upgrade their skills in this field to the level of an Authorised Representative.

At the completion of this program, you will be able to:
  • advise clients on how best to purchase investment properties;
  • give advice on the stock market in comparison with property investment;
  • show people how to use their superannuation, particularly in relation to the purchase of property;
  • sell insurance;
  • develop, prepare and implement a Financial Plan.

If you are a property agent who sells property to investors or a property manager, this is definitely the course for you.  You will be able to legally provide advice to your clients about the purchase and/or management of investment properties.  Without this qualification, under the Property, Stock and Business Agents Act 2002, you are not permitted to give financial advice of any nature.

You have the choice to complete specific sections of this training program in order to gain the necessary qualifications to apply for specific roles within the financial services industry.

Outcomes:    By completing identified modules, you will be known as “RG146 compliant” (previously referred to as PS146).  See the table below for an explanation of the individual modules.

It should be noted that at the completion of this entire training program, you will have met all of the requirements to gain a full Diploma in Financial Services.

The Australian College of Professionals will provide you with the necessary information to join a financial services company that is registered with an Australian Financial Services Licence (AFSL). You can then become registered as an “Authorised Representative” to provide general advice in the area of investment products.
