TraineeshipsTraditionally traineeships and apprenticeships were considered to be for new employees starting out in a career. Times are changing - opportunities are now available for employers to train new and existing staff through Commonwealth Incentives, for the Certificate IV in Financial Services (Bookkeeping).
Duration for trainingThe duration of a course depends greatly on you, the time you have to dedicate to the learning activities and assessments and the timeframe in which you want to complete the course. All courses do have a maximum timeframe in which they need to be competed, however the minimum is set by you.
Competency Based Training & AssessmentParticipants enrolled in training leading to either a statement of attainment or certificate are required to complete assessments to demonstrate competency.
Competency based assessment is the process of gathering evidence to confirm that participants can perform required skills and knowledge.
Assessments undertaken may include:- Completion of case studies and similar activities
- Development of a portfolio
Participants will be given feedback on all assessment activities. Competency based assessment does not use a marking scale rather the participant is deemed competent or not yet competent.
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) Recognition of Prior Learning is the process of formal recognition for skills and knowledge gained through previous learning such as:
- Recreational or personal interests

Credit TransferYou may be eligible for a credit transfer if you have previously undertaken training through a Registered Training Organisation. Credit transfer may be granted for one or more units.
Advanced Diplomas and DiplomasThese provide high-level technical or management skills and offer credit to many universities in Queensland. They can also assist in upgrading your work skills or help you enter or re-enter the workforce at a more qualified level. Diploma and Advance Diploma qualifications focus on strategic planning skills and high level management skills.
Certificate IVA Certificate IV focuses on the demonstration and understanding of a broad knowledge base, including developing solutions to unpredictable problems, identifying, analysing and evaluating information from a variety of sources, taking responsibility for own outputs in relation to specified quality standards and taking responsibility for the quantity and quality of the output of others.
Certificate IIICertificate III focuses on the application of a range of well developed skills, including application of known solutions to a variety of outcomes, making decisions and judgments, interpreting information and use discretion, taking responsibility for own outputs in work and learning and taking limited responsibility for the output of others.
Certificate IICertificate II focuses basic operational knowledge in a range of areas, with application of a defined range of skills, providing solutions to a limited range of problems, perform limited range of tasks, assess and record information and take responsibility for own work.
On completion
On successful completion of all requirements for the training you will receive a nationally recognised qualification.
Nationally recognised qualifications are qualifications developed to meet the requirements of the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF). These qualifications can be awarded only by registered training organisations and are recognised throughout Australia. A nationally recognised qualification, through a registered training organisation means that you will be acquiring skills to meet the needs of industry and employers as well as your own.
