Certificate IV in Fitness (Personal Trainer) – SIS40210
Study time – 500hrs
Course Code – SIS40210
This program trains you to become a personal trainer in the fitness industry. You will be able to operate your own personal training business as well as being a member of a larger organisation such as a gym or fitness centre.
Personal trainers are able to assist both individuals and small groups to reach their personal health and fitness goals.
Lesson Structure
Students study a range of practical and theoretical topics including:
- Principles of Fitness
- Advanced Exercise Science
- Client Communication
- Motivation
- Fitness Programming for Individuals
- Advanced Nutrition
- Promoting a Fitness Business
- ‘My Personal training Business’ Case study
Pre-requisite Program : Certificate III Fitness
Should I do the CIII and CIV individually or as a package?
Please note, there is a significant overlap of course material and understanding between the Certificate III and Certificate IV.
If a student does not have either qualification it is highly recommended to do the packaged course – and receive both qualifications at the same time.
For example, both courses require learning in Human Anatomy, the difference being the Certificate IV level student typically needing to show a greater knowledge of these principles. So it does save time the student learning Human Anatomy for both levels at the same time, rather than having to revisit so much similar content the second time around.
What You Will Do
- As a student you will be sent a complete course pack and study materials. These are designed to provide simple step-by-step learning.
- Once you have enrolled we will assign you a personal tutor who will assist your progress throughout your course.
- You will receive your course package complete with easy to follow instructions and guides.
- You will manage your training plan and how you move through each step of the course. Some stages are based on theory work and some stages are based on practical tasks.
- When a lesson or stage is completed, your tutor will mark and comment on your work, then you will move onto the next section.
- You will complete a final practical case study and assessment to complete your course.
