Qualification Overview

This qualification is for people who want to become a Teacher’s Aide, Integration Aide, Education Support Worker or similar in a school setting and particularly with children in the early years of primary school. People in these roles work in a range of educational settings - including government schools, independent schools and community education settings. The course will equip you to provide classroom assistance and support to teachers and students. There is a focus on supporting students with additional needs and disabilities such as Autism Spectrum Disorder. It provides in-depth knowledge relating to school curriculum, planning and observation of students. The qualification is also suitable for people who are already working in these roles but don’t yet have any formal qualifications.

Training Modes and Locations

This qualification is available by distance education and in classroom programs as shown on our website www.customisedtraining.edu.au. We may also be able to schedule other classes or training in workplaces in Metropolitan Melbourne and regional Victoria for groups of students.

Cost

Customised Training is contracted as a provider of government funded training under the Skills First program which is made available by the Victorian and Commonwealth Governments. Student fees will be reduced for individuals who are eligible for Skills First funding. For students who are not eligible for funding, we offer reasonable student fees and payment plans. Refer to our website for funded and fee for service student fees and learning resource charges.

Pre-requisites and Entry Requirements

There are no entry requirements into this qualification other than the need to be working in an educational setting or to be able to undertake a work placement of 100 hours. Students are required to undertake this appropriate practical work within a primary, secondary or special school.
