Qualification Overview

This qualification is for people who want to support and empower people with a disability. The course will provide you with the skills and knowledge required to work with people with disabilities and the capacity to enhance their ability to achieve greater levels of independence, self-reliance and social participation. The qualification is suitable for people who are new to the disability field and for those who already work in the sector and wish to consolidate and grow their existing skills and knowledge.

Training Modes and Locations

This qualification is available in classroom programs as shown on our website . We may also be able to schedule other classes or training in workplaces in Metropolitan Melbourne and regional Victoria for groups of students.


Customised Training is contracted as a provider of government funded training under the Skills First program which is made available by the Victorian and Commonwealth Governments. Student fees will be reduced for individuals who are eligible for Skills First funding. For students who are not eligible for funding, we offer reasonable student fees and payment plans. Refer to our website for funded and fee for service student fees and learning resource charges.

Pre-requisites and Entry Requirements

It is a requirement of this qualification to undertake 120 hours of work placement in a relevant work environment either under an employment or volunteer arrangement.
