Information Digital Media and Technology continues to expand globally. Many employers are looking to hire extra IT staff during the next year in this very important field. Careers in technology are potentially very lucrative. This course provides the skills and knowledge for an individual to be competent for a variety of Information Technology positions including:
- Help desk & Support/Technician
- User support specialist
Students will learn skills enabling them to work effectively in the IT environment of an organisation, including communicating in the workplace and following workplace safety procedures.
All students must be at least 16 years of age, demonstrate completion of Year 10 or its equivalent.
Participate in OHS processes
Participate in environmentally sustainable work practices
Using computer operating systems and hardware
Work and communicate effectively in an IT environment
Operate application software packages
Operate a digital media technology package
Use social media technology package
Operate database applications
Produce simple word processed documents
Protect and secure information assets
Apply problem-solving techniques to routine IT malfunctions
Create and use spreadsheets
Capture a digital image
