The Certificate IV in Bookkeeping FNS40211 is one of Australia's most popular bookkeeping qualifcations. This nationally recognised and accredited qualification is ideal if you are just getting into the industry, an employee performing bookkeeping duties as part of your work or you are a professional/contract bookkeeper formalising your skills. 

Inspire Education's Certificate IV in Bookkeeping includes units which assess your ability carry out Business Activity and Instalment Activity Tasks, and how to Establish and Maintain a Payroll System using Tax Practitioners Board (TPB) approved assessment methods. As a result, successfully completing this course means you have fulfilled the education requirements for BAS agent registration in Australia!

Nominal Hours:  There are a total of 575 nominal hours for this course. This equals approximately 11 hours of study per week for the full 12 month course, however you may work at your own pace and complete your course much sooner if you like!

Assessment Methods:  Assessment is conducted using a combination of written questions, problem solving activities, case studies, research projects and document creation, giving you maximum opportunity to develop your knowledge in bookkeeping.

Entry Requirements

There are no prerequisites required to enter the Certificate IV in Bookkeeping. However, it is preferred that you:

  • Are 18 years or older
  • Have sound language and literacy skills (at least Year 10 English and Maths, or equivalent)
  • Hold a Certificate III in Accounts Administration OR some industry experience
  • Have basic computer skills preferably with Microsoft Word and Excel
