Course Outline:

This qualification covers workers in children’s services who are responsible for planning, implementing and managing programs in early childhood services, in accordance with licensing, accreditation and duty of care requirements. At this level workers have responsibility for supervision of other staff and volunteers. In most states it is the highest qualification required at director or service manager level for children’s service centre-based care. Occupational titles may include: Authorised supervisor, Centre manager, Children’s services coordinator, Director, Group/team coordinator/leader, Program leader and Child development worker, Children’s adviser, Child development worker or Early Childhood Educator.

*Prerequisite: Students must complete the following pre requisite units of competency from CHC30712 Certificate III in Children’s Services for entry into this course. A certified copy of the Statement of Results must be forwarded with the enrolment form.

Assessments are competency based and include a variety of written, project and practical work.

First Aid:

It is recommended but not compulsory that students complete a First Aid Certificate with an accredited provider to gain employment in the industry (Cost to be met by student). . Average cost of a First Aid Certificate is $130.00

Vocational Placement:

Up to 240 hours on the job.
