Certificate III in Aged Care Work is a nationally recognised course that allows you to be a care provider within a residential setting and within the community.
A number of career pathways are available to you with further study, such as Enrolled Nursing, Leisure and Living, Health and Community Care etc

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Basic literacy and numeracy skills and a genuine interest in caring for an older person.
COMPETENCIES Course consists of 13 competencies. Units cover a range of topics, including Occupational Health & Safety, Communication, Provide Personal Care and Support to an Older Person and Dementia Care Support.
This course includes a period of placement in industry for experience.

RECOGNITION OF EXISTING SKILLS
When you apply to train at TAFE Tasmania you can ask for recognition of previous VET in schools, work or study experience. This is called Recognition of Current Competencies (RCC) or Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL).
FEES - INVEST IN YOUR FUTURE Fees effective from 1/1/2008 You'll be surprised at how affordable TAFE Tasmania is - most courses have a cap of $990 for one calendar year of training ($275 with concession).
You do not pay HECS. Additional costs may apply to some courses for uniforms, licenses or text books.
