Course Overview

This qualification provides the skills and knowledge for an individual to install and administer simple networks, servers, and client desktop deployments either as an independent information and communications technology (ICT) specialist or as part of a team.

This program has been created with a blend of vendor specific, vendor neutral and trainer developed materials. Vendor training is recognised internationally as an industry benchmark for product specific training. Upskilled uses an online Learning Management System to manage the delivery, assessment and learning resources. The program is conducted over a 12 month period through a blended learning approach of distance, online and teacher led workshops or webinars.


There are no formal entry requirements for this qualification, however the preferred pathway for candidates include:

  • Successful completion of ICT30115 Certificate III in Information, Digital Media and Technology, or other relevant qualifications or units equivalent to the core of ICT30115 OR
  • Successful completion of Year 12 certificate and relevant ICT experience equivalent to the following units of competency:
    • ICTICT201 Use computer operating systems and hardware
    • ICTICT202 Work and communicate effectively in an IT environment
    • ICTICT203 Operate application software packages
    • ICTWEB201 Use social media tools for collaboration and engagement OR
  • Demonstrated vocational experience in a range of IT work environments in a network support role, including administrator, manager, operations analyst, operations engineer/technician, or technician.
