Qualification Overview

The qualification is the training program of choice for leaders and managers in community, health and welfare services. This includes early childhood, aged care, disability and similar organisations. The topics covered in this qualification will assist leaders to manage teams and services effectively in these times of rapid change. Leaders can then apply these skills and knowledge to achieving the strategic and operational goals of their organisation. This qualification is an alternative to the superseded Advanced Diploma of Children’s Services and Advanced Diploma of Disability.

This qualification is available online, in classrooms and in workplaces for groups.


Customised Training is contracted as a provider of Victorian Government subsidised training under the Skills First Program. Qualification fee subsidies may be available to eligible individuals with funds made available by the Victorian and Commonwealth Governments. Details can be found at

Pre-Requisites/Entry Requirements

There are no prerequisites to this qualification however students must have a lower qualification in their field of expertise e.g. Certificate IV or Diploma qualification in a chosen community services area and be able to provide a resume showing details of past and current employment with at least 2 years relevant industry or vocational experience. Learners must also have an opportunity to supervise staff throughout the program.
